Automatic Modes: The camera controls everything for you.

Portrait Mode: The camera will automatically select a large aperture to keep the background outa focus.

Macro Mode: It allows you to take close ups of objects.

Landscape: The camera will automatically set a small aperture.

Sports Mode: Makes it easier to take pictures of moving objects.

Night Mode: This mode is made to shoot pictures in low light conditions.

Movie Mode: Its to capture moving images.

Aperture Priority Mode: The camera only allows you to control your aperture, the camera will be automatic with everything else.

Shutter Priority Mode: You can only choose your shutter speed everything else is controlled by the camera.

Program Mode: Same as auto mode except you get control of white balance, ISO, etc.

Manual Mode: YOU CONTROL EVERYTHING.
